Antique Louis Philippe style chest of drawers, circa 1900, solid wood framed and veneered with mahogany, brown finish, 130 cm wide, 65 cm deep, 100 cm high, lockable and of Italian origin.
Description from the seller
Elegant chest of drawers in the Louis-Philippe style from the Italian region, made in the mid-1800s.
The piece of furniture is entirely clad in fine mahogany veneer, laid out symmetrically to create a natural flame pattern of great aesthetic value.
Key features:
Structure: It features the classic first drawer beneath the countertop with a grooved pull (curved), followed by three large drawers underneath.
Uprights: Sides enriched with pilasters in the form of fluted columns, terminating in original onion-shaped bases.
Psyche (Mirror): The piece is topped with an original, coordinated psyche, equipped with a tilting mirror and barley-twist columns, with a small storage drawer at the base.
Details: vents and hanging handles in worked bronze (in keeping with the style).
Condition of preservation
The piece of furniture is in good original structural condition. It shows the usual signs of age and use (small veneer losses and superficial scratches visible in the photo) that attest to its authenticity. The patina is original. The interiors of the drawers are intact.
