Bronze wall sconce in the shape of a putto.
Height: 38 cm

Elegant wall sconce in dark patinated bronze modeled as a half-figure of an angel, with a circular-shaped drip tray at the top and a suggestive scroll-shaped shelf at the bottom.

In overall excellent condition, the wall lamp reproduces the well-known model by Nicolò Roccatagliata found in the Basilica of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, designed by A. Palladio and built between 1560 and 1580, as well as the singing Putto, a statuette now in the Cini Collection in Venice.

The sculptor Nicolò Roccatagliata, originally from Genoa, worked in Venice and, in collaboration with Cesare Groppo, created six small bronze candlesticks.
