Deep Deep Puddle, a 161-page softcover art book by Yoshitomo Nara, published by KADOKAWA Shoten in 2000 (10th printing of the 1997 edition) in Japanese and English, with a dust jacket showing wear and the book in good condition.
Description from the seller
Deep Deep Puddle (Fukai Fukai Mizutamari) is an extremely rare early artist monograph by world-renowned Japanese contemporary artist Yoshitomo Nara.
Published in 1997, this landmark book was personally curated by Nara himself and presents over 100 works including paintings and sculptures, all reproduced in full color.
Neither fairy tale nor fantasy, this book creates a powerful visual world that merges art, literature and music into one.
Published as his first major painting-focused book, it marked Nara’s emergence as an international voice in contemporary art and quickly became sought after by collectors in Asia, America and Europe.
Today, this early monograph is difficult to find, even in Japan.

“It feels as if I am walking alone on a single thin line.
I am a boy riding on a ship called myself.
Above me, below me, everything around is pitch dark,
and I move forward slowly through it.
Floating as I go.
I don’t know if my hand will ever reach anything,
but still, I keep moving forward.”
