Description from the seller
Set of 7 French opaline milk-glass egg cups with chicken – circa 1900–1930
Beautiful and rare set of 7 egg cups, crafted in blue opaline milk glass, each supported by a finely modeled chicken base.
This type of decorative table glass was particularly popular in France in the early 20th century and was often used at festive breakfast tables.
The egg toppers are made of real opaline (“Opale véritable”), as evidenced by the characteristic milky translucence and the original paper brand label that is still present on one piece. The combination of color, form, and animal motif makes this set highly sought after by collectors of opaline glass and Art Nouveau/early Art Deco table decoration.
A charming and decorative ensemble in very good vintage condition that is both collectible and excellently presentable. Diameter 5 cm, height 6.5 cm.
