AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful authentic Bochara.
Antique, certainly made over 100 years ago.
With wool from their own sheep and dyes they made themselves from plants in their surroundings.
Knotted onto undyed goat-hair chain threads.
The octagonal shapes are called 'Guls'.
Each tribe has or had its own Gul symbol.
This red is very beautiful, fairly soft in color, and with abrash—the blend of colors you can see.
For you don’t see a single monotone color, but 100 subtle nuances—the charm of the craftsmanship.
Nice worn condition. No holes.
He had a small crack along the bottom edge, still visible in the photo. But that has since been repaired.

These carpets were once made by Ersari nomads.
They lived on the grasslands in Turkmenistan, between northern Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.
These carpets are always attributed to Afghanistan, but as you can see above, that was only a small part of this people.
Bukhara is the capital of Uzbekistan, the place on the Silk Road where these nomads sold their carpets. Hence the name.

>>> Extra costs for transport due to the large weight - 50 kg. Box dimensions: 80 x 50 x 50 cm.
For example, for France it is 125 euros with UPS.

I have to fill in something on the fly just to be able to create the ad.
Prices vary by postal code and may therefore be different from those currently shown here.
I use the price that DHL or UPS charges.
So it may be less or more, but those are the costs. We can compensate each other; there is no other system that addresses this.

If you would prefer to send me a label and pay the shipping costs yourself directly, that is also possible. Please contact customer service. Indicate at payment 'self-pickup'; then you will not pay Catawiki the shipping costs and you can send me the label via email or through Catawiki's messages box. You can always send photos, messages, and links in this messages box.

Extra costs for transport due to the heavy weight, 50 KG, to France will be with UPS a minimum of 125 Euro. Box size 80x50x50 cm. - No matter what Catawiki suggests. You are also free to send me a label from UPS or Fed-Ex or DHL, or any other transporter; it makes no difference. It is not possible to get any pricing in general from UPS or DHL in advance; they want to know the postal code. So prices for transport will be different than as shown here in the Advertisement. I have to gamble prices in order to make this advertisement.
