Antique Silver-Plated Pewter Hip Flask
Engraved – dated 10 January 1990
This antique hip flask is made of pewter with silver plating, featuring a classic rectangular form with softly rounded edges. The surface bears an engraved monogram “J.M.G.” and a dated inscription “10th January 1990”, suggesting it was a personal commemorative or gift item from the turn of the 20th century.
Several maker’s and material marks are visible, consistent with period pewter production. The screw cap is original and functional. The flask displays an attractive, even patina, with surface wear, small scratches and age marks consistent with its age and use, adding to its authentic antique character.
This piece represents a fine example of late 19th / early 20th century personal accessories, suitable for collectors of historical objects, decorative antiques, or ethnographic items.
