Description from the seller
From a private collection.
Well-functioning Art Deco pendulum clock.
Geometric design, characteristic of the Amsterdam School period.
The clock is in very good, fully original condition.
Estimated construction period: 1920–1930.
Triangular, undamaged oak cabinet with Coromandel front panels and a hinged back door.
The Coromandel wooden dial follows the lines of the case and is equipped with chrome-plated numerals and hands.
The chrome on the hands shows some material loss after 100 years; otherwise, the clock is in exceptionally good condition.
The original clockwork has, in the past, been overhauled (fitted with new sliding bearings), functions perfectly and strikes every half hour with a pleasant-sounding round chime.
Cannot be knocked out of alignment (sawing mechanism).
Regarding a watch with a one-week power reserve; the power reserve is more than sufficient (10 days); tightening the winding of the movement is not necessary (and not advisable).
Original pendulum and key. The pendulum is, of course, height-adjustable.
The hinges and lock of the rear door are in good condition.
Considering its age, condition, and its remarkable Art Deco design, this clock is a striking and rare piece that fits well in any interior and is still functional.
The clock will be carefully packaged and sent by registered mail, insured and traceable.
If desired, the clock can also be picked up in the Noord-Limburg region, the Netherlands.
