Kacia, 1898
Lithograph on wove paper.
Signed on the plate lower left.
L'Estampe Moderne's blind stamp on the bottom right corner.
Dimensions:
+Size of the sheet: approximately 40,3 x 30,8 cm. / 15.9 x 12.2 in.
Condition: In good overall condition, with some light handling marks in the margins and a minor fold upper right corner. The image is otherwise very clean. Unframed.
Issued from the famous set « L’ Estampe Moderne ».
Published by Masson & Piazza, Paris.
Not unlike the Maitre de L'Affiche series, L'Estampe Moderne was a portfolio printed between 1897-99, published by Imprimerie Champenois, Paris, contained 24 monthly portfolios, with four original lithographs in each. Each was commissioned only for this series.
As well as Mucha, some of the contributing artists included Rhead, Meunier, Ibels, Steinlen, Willette and Grasset.
