Description from the seller
A rare and comprehensive set of accessories for antique microscopy, ideal for collectors, Victorian science enthusiasts, or restorers. This lot comprises high-quality pieces manufactured by the most prestigious British and German opticians of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Main Content:
• Objectives in a Brass Case: Includes renowned brands such as W. Watson & Sons (1/6 in Parachromatic), C. Baker London (1 in and 1/4 in) and E. Leitz Wetzlar (1/12 Oil Immersion).
• Mechanical Accessories: A brass binocular head (adapter), two 'Bullseye' illumination condensers on articulated supports, and several sub-stage condensers.
• Eyepieces: Various units with different magnifications.
Condition and Optics (Important):
• Structure: The brass shows an authentic and charming patina, with natural signs of age and use. The adjustment mechanisms of the bullseye loupes move correctly.
• Condition of the Lenses: This is an attic/antique find that has not undergone recent professional cleaning. Some lenses contain fungi and internal dirt buildup, typical of their age. Other components show only light grime and dust, and could benefit significantly from a technical cleaning. In the second photo, on the right are the lenses in better condition, and on the left are those in worse condition.
For sale As-Is: The lot is sold “as is,” making an excellent opportunity for those with experience in restoring antique optics or who want original parts to complete period microscopes.
Shipping Details:
• Total Weight: Approx. 2.1 kg (with packaging).
• Safety: Each brass component will be individually protected to prevent hazards or damage during transport.
• Fees: Customs charges for outside the European Union (including the United Kingdom) are the responsibility of the buyer.
