Christofle - Cutlery set (9) - Marly - Silverplated

A beautiful set of 9 silver-plated table cutlery pieces, consisting of a fish fork, a table knife, two dessert knives, two fish knives, two coffee spoons, and a cake fork from the famous silver house Maison d'Haute Orfèvrerie Christofle (Paris).

This concerns the Marly model; this collection is still available from the authorized Christofle dealer.
This set would then be (new) €960.

Model Marly was designed in 1897 and derives its name from the Marly Castle, which was built near Paris by Louis XIV as a 'pleasure palace'.
Marly is one of the most extensively decorated patterns in Christofle's collection; the delicate chasing of its asymmetric plant motifs, typical of the Rocaille or Louis XV style, emphasizes the silversmith's craftsmanship and attention to detail.
