Christofle - Fork (8) - Malmaison - Silverplated

Beautiful cutlery set consisting of 8 dinner forks from the famous silversmith Maison d'Haute Orfèvrerie Christofle (Paris); this is the Malmaison model.

The Malmaison line is still available from the authorized Christofle dealer, as are these table forks; this set costs (new) € 920,=.

Malmaison is an exemplar of Empire style and bears the name of the château that was the favorite holiday destination of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte and Empress Josephine. Resolutely chic; the ornaments, the openwork leaves, and the symmetry of the decorations give a stately stamp to the table and to every moment experienced there.

Heavy quality, in good condition.

All cutlery pieces bear the hallmark Christofle used between 1935 and 1983; (A knight chess piece flanked by an O on the left and a C on the right).
