Description from the seller
Rare and elegant Daum Nancy single-flower vase, made around 1890, emblematic of the École de Nancy and the Art Nouveau style.
This vase features a blown bulbous base topped with a long, slender neck, made of amber yellow glass with a frosted and slightly satin surface. The rotating decor, finely engraved and acid-etched, depicts delicate chrysanthemum flowers accompanied by a fluttering dragonfly, a naturalistic motif typical of Daum's production from the late 19th century.
The piece is enhanced with gold gilding, notably on the decor and collar, bringing great finesse and a subtle contrast with the satin-finished surface of the glass.
The vase is signed 'Daum Nancy' with gold under the base, a signature consistent with the productions of the Daum house from this period.
Very good condition considering the age of the piece.
No flaw or crack.
Light occasional wear to the gilding, normal and consistent with an item over 130 years old, with no impact on its aesthetics or collectible value.
