This extraordinarily compact ruby presents itself as a condensed essence of itself—a piece that tells less of the matrix and more of the pure core. With a weight of 2.776 g (13.875 ct) and dimensions of 1.3 × 1.4 × 0.9 cm, this crystal appears almost monolithic, powerfully condensed, as if nature here deliberately did without expansion and instead chose concentration.
The ruby displays an intense, rich magenta to purplish coloration with a lively internal structure. Small calcite inclusions (whitish, granular) as well as metallic-glossy pyrite inclusions give the piece additional depth and a fascinating contrast between light, matter, and metallic reflection. Under UV light the ruby reacts noticeably and reveals its inner energy in an impressive way.
