Rochester Optical Co. folding camera rochester optical pocket poco (circa 1930–1940) in very good physical condition, tested and functioning, with a mahogany body, black leather covering, red leather bellows, and a gold-finished Bausch & Lomb pocket poco shutter.
Description from the seller
for sale: Rochester Optical Pocket Poco (1903), a rare American folding camera produced by one of Rochester's historic companies, later acquired by Kodak, ideal for collectors of less common pre-war brands. The body is made of mahogany wood with a glossy finish, visible on the collapsible base, and clad in black leather, with a red leather bellows that creates an elegant color contrast.
On the front, the lens mounted on a Bausch & Lomb pneumatic shutter, “Pocket Poco,” stands out, with the characteristic gold finish and the piston mechanism—a technically and visually valuable detail. There is also an orientable reflex sight for horizontal and vertical framing.
The technical sheet indicates generally decent condition: body in good condition, shutter functioning, lenses clean, mechanical movements operating, bellows good and frosted glass clean. This camera used photographic plates and represents a refined example of a compact “cycle camera” from the turn of the century. Included is a Rochester Optical Pocket camera, as shown in the images.
