Contax, Zeiss Ikon Contax II Analogue camera

Rare 1930s Contax II camera, equipped with a Zeiss Sonnar 50 mm f/2 lens, both in a copper-chrome finish. It is a pre-war model in excellent condition. The lens, uncoated, is clear and free of visible fungus and scratches; it is pristine. The shutter works perfectly at all speeds. The built-in shutter requires maintenance; it does not cock automatically at slow speeds. The film rewind knob is engraved “Made in Germany,” indicating that this is a Zeiss Contax II manufactured in Germany in the 1930s for the Chinese army during World War II, and used to defeat the Japanese in Manchuria. This camera has considerable collectible value. Its appearance matches the photos, with some signs of wear. It comes with its original leather case bearing the unique serial number: 179712.
