Description from the seller
Rare signed Degué Art Deco ceiling light – Large scale – Moulded satin glass – France, circa 1930
Rare French Art Deco ceiling light in moulded satin glass by Degué (David Guéron, Paris), one of the leading designers and manufacturers of Art Deco lighting during the late 1920s and early 1930s.
This large-format model (44 cm diameter) features a stylised geometric decoration composed of circular rosettes and angular motifs, characteristic of the Art Deco aesthetic. The glass is thick (approximately 8 mm), offering a soft and even light diffusion that enhances the sculptural relief of the design.
The “Degué” signature is acid-etched into the glass, visible on the edge, fully consistent with authentic productions of the Degué workshop.
Ceiling lights of this type were originally designed for modern interiors, Art Deco apartment buildings, private residences and prestigious public or collective spaces. Large-scale signed Degué ceiling lights are relatively rare and highly sought after on the international Art Deco market, particularly by collectors, interior designers and architects.
