Description from the seller
Bronze Green Tara.
Nice patina. It is a beautiful, small piece, 17 cm tall.
Tara is, in Buddhism, a female deity of enlightening wisdom.
She has 21 different facets, all of which are named Tara, in all the colors of the rainbow.
This is the Green Tara, the goddess of motherhood.
Tara sits on a throne of lotus and moon, and when she extends a leg, it means she is ready to act.
Tara literally means the savior. In Buddhism, Tara is an emanation of the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara. She sprang from the tears of Avalokiteshvara, which flowed from compassion for all beings. Tara is therefore above all the essence (divinity) of compassion. She is the mother of the Tibetan people and is known as a devout queen or consort. According to Buddhism, one can invoke her or take up her mandala, and she comes swooping in to help.
This lot has been carefully cleaned and will be carefully packed, shipped via registered mail with insurance, and includes a Track & Trace code so you can follow the shipment. Pickup in Ridderkerk - Zuid Holland is also possible. I have delicious hand-ground coffee.
