Description from the seller

John Stezaker has collected photographic city photographs for 30 years from the twenties and thirties. In this book he presents hundreds of miniatures the size of postage stamps, isolated in the center of large white pages. Stezaker focuses on anonymous people who happened to be captured at the edges or in the background of urban landscapes and travel illustrations. By removing these figures from their "urban labyrinths," he explores themes such as transience, memory, and the "haunted" nature of the photographic image.

Hard cover.
The book has no colophon.
