Description:
Elegant bronze sculpture depicting a female figure in a harmonious pose, bearing two baskets full of grapes, a clear allegory of Abundance and the Harvest. The work is characterized by refined modeling and careful anatomical rendering, typical of Mathurin Moreau’s output, one of the most renowned French sculptors of the nineteenth century.
The figure wears a soft, form-fitting dress, richly detailed, with natural movement of the folds. The details of the face, hands, and feet are particularly well-crafted. The dark patina is uniform and well preserved, imparting great elegance to the whole.
The sculpture rests on an integrated base bearing the engraved signature “M.F. Moreau,” attributable to Mathurin François Moreau. The dimensions and weight (8 kg, with a height of 50 cm) are consistent with a high-quality bronze casting.
Conditions:
Good overall condition, with normal signs of wear and light wear consistent with age. No breaks or visible restorations.
