Portraits: Avedon Photography Exhibition - Portraits of an Era, a collection of works by American photographer Richard Avedon. In 2017, the long-awaited reprint of Nothing Personal, Avedon's second book and considered an early masterpiece, was released. In recent years, he has also published Avedon Advertising, focusing exclusively on commercial imagery. Avedon continues to see numerous exhibitions and collections released annually. Perhaps influenced by fashion's shift towards casualization and lifestyle-oriented trends, the collection brands and dressy styles Avedon photographed seem to receive less attention from a “fashion” perspective in recent years. However, from a “photography” standpoint, his ‘portraits’ capturing the subject's inner essence and his “aggressive style” brimming with movement and narrative retain an enduring appeal that never fades with time. This book is the Japanese edition of a collection published in the mid-1970s, released in Japan during the exhibition of the same name held at the Seibu Museum of Art. Edited by Shoji Yamagishi of Camera Mainichi, it features a translation by Ryōji Akiyama, one of Japan's leading photographers. Extremely rare, signed by the photographer.
