Description from the seller

Democratic Republic of the Congo - RDC
Kongo Vili Culture
Tree bark, bones, a monkey skull, magical elements.
Height 23 cm - Length 42 cm

What a presence this ancient reliquary from the Democratic Republic of Congo has. It is composed of a basket made of tree bark filled with bones, magical elements and the skull of a large ape. The composition is successful; there is a troubling presence emanating from this work. It is a powerful and atypical object. Beautiful old patina. Sold as is, see photos. A beautiful piece of antique and authentic collection. Circa 1950.
