Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Kine Exakta Version 2 with a rectangular viewfinder produced in 1937, serial 484722, is not working due to a stiff shutter curtain and a missing mirror, and a replacement mirror is supplied to be mounted, while the Meyer Görlitz Wide Angle Doppel Anastigmat f4.5/4 cm lens with Exakta bayonet has been tested and is in excellent condition; the Exakta book is not included.
Description from the seller
This Kine Exakta Version 2 with a rectangular viewfinder/magnifier, produced in 1937, is in fairly nice condition.
The unit offered with a lens is from the first batch of the Kine Exakta Version 2.
The serial number of the camera is 484722.
From the Exakta book: Cameras 1933-1978 by Clément Aguila and Michel Rouah, it can clearly be deduced that the first batch of Kine Exakta’s – Series 2 started with camera number 484700. (pp. 49 and 50)
Thus the offered cameras are the 722nd devices, which were handmade in 1937.
But there is a caveat... the offered camera does not work as it should. The shutter curtain or shutter cloth has become quite stiff over the years, and as a result the shutter cannot really be cocked.
Well, I did try to cock the shutter using the upper shutter-speed dial, and I could get some movement in the cloth, but not enough to drop the mirror down.
The mirror is no longer included. But together with the camera, another mirror is supplied that the purchaser (or another qualified person) must install themselves.
In other words... this camera needs work.
The Meyer Görlitz wide-angle Doppel-Anastigmat f4.5/4 cm lens has been tested and is in excellent condition. This lens has the Exakta bayonet mount.
This is a fantastic lens for photographers seeking a lens with a distinctive, artistic look, particularly its unique bokeh, for which this lens is well known.
This lens does not offer the technical performance of modern lenses but does provide vintage charm and excellent build quality.
The offered lens has been subjected to an inspection and was found to be good.
The lens is free of scratches and cleaning marks.
Focusing proceeds smoothly without hitches.
The aperture can be adjusted from f/4.5 up to and including f/32 without any issues.
There is no oil visible on the diaphragm plates.
The lens has minimal signs of use (see photos; these are part of the description).
The photo book: Exakta cameras 1933 - 1978 by Clément Aguila and Michel Rouah is NOT included.
This non-working camera and lens are a nice addition for any collector still looking for a piece of history, because this is what Ekakta has done in photography... history has been written.
The package will be shipped with a Track & Trace number and insurance, and with sturdy packaging.
NOTE: I only ship my goods with a Track & Trace number including insurance (to cover potential damages and theft).
Please keep in mind that shipping costs may be slightly more expensive.
If anyone here does not agree, please also refrain from placing bids.
Thank you in advance.
