Description from the seller
Splendid and imposing bedspread from the early 1900s in cotton and silk, entirely hand-embroidered. Thanks to the double weave of the fabric, it drapes nicely over the bed down to the floor. Size 230 cm by 213 cm, plus a fringe with a band of passementerie and a straight 7 cm section.
In the center, a large rosette with flowers on the sides of the circles, flowers that form the border of the central part, and a decoration that reaches to the floor with geometric designs that look like a chessboard.
The decorations, some in rust color and others in white. It is entirely hand-embroidered to the floor with rust-colored flowers and circles and the white embroidery. The fringe measures 6 cm and is composed of a band of passementerie and a straight fringe, echoing the colors of the bedspread. From the reverse side you can see the hand embroidery.
Given the neutral color, it easily matches the upholstery of a house. It is in excellent condition, considering that my family had many bedspreads and they were changed often.
It was part of my family’s dowry, which is quite large, so I am selling it. For shipping I use couriers rather than the post because it arrives faster and has double packaging, and the communication is simpler.
