Description from the seller
The Baoulé masks are known in African art for the fineness of their features, a mouth protruding forward, and half-closed eyes.
The top of the mask is topped with a headdress decorated with imposing braids.
The Baoulé live in the Southeast of Ivory Coast. They are part of the Akan group. One can notice that their craftsmanship is not frightening. The living conditions of the Baoulé are certainly among the best in the country, and this is evident in their serene masks and their sophisticated statuary.
