MALDIVES. 25 Laari. 1960.
- Value: 25 Laari.
- Year: 1960 (AH 1379).
- Inscriptions: Obverse: a central palm tree above a crescent and a star, flanked by two national flags, with the date 1960 on the left and ١٣٧٩ on the right, and an Arabic legend in the lower cartouche. Reverse: value 25 in Latin and Arabic numerals, surrounded by an Arabic inscription corresponding to the state.
- Grade: MS63 (NGC).
Coppery alloy coin, round in shape, with a reeded edge, corresponding to the Maldivian monetary series issued in 1960. The obverse presents a clearly defined symbolic composition, with the palm tree as the island emblem and the crescent with star of Islamic tradition, all engraved with notable precision and well-preserved reliefs. The reverse stands out for its large face value, balanced with careful Arabic calligraphy at the top. A specimen in excellent condition for the type, showing visible original lustre, clean fields and a homogeneous golden-toned patina, with minimal contact marks, making it particularly attractive from a numismatic perspective.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to make it absolutely clear that I ship from Spain. This means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside the EU that has a special tax agreement (for example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs, and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and is completely out of our control. Thank you for your understanding.
