- Obverse: the national emblem of the People's Republic of China with five stars above the Tiananmen Gate, surrounded by ears of grain and the inscription 中华人民共和国. Reverse: denomination 5 and the characters 五角 in the center, flanked by ears of wheat, with the date 1981 at the bottom.

Circular brass coin in a standard circular module, belonging to the regular issue series of the People's Republic of China from the late 20th century. The obverse shows the national emblem in a sober, clearly defined style, with sharp relief and excellent detail in the ears of grain and the stars, reflecting the socialist symbolic language of the era. The reverse features the face value in a balanced composition, with clear and well-proportioned typography, accompanied by agricultural motifs that add visual depth.
