Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Canon Canonet original first version, a 35 mm film camera (serial 546784) in very good physical condition and tested and functioning.
Description from the seller
Magnificent example of the original Canon Canonet, produced in 1961. This is the first, historic version that launched the successful Canonet dynasty, recognizable by the iconic loading lever positioned on the bottom of the camera, a unique mechanical detail highly sought after by collectors.
This specimen is in excellent condition and, unlike most units on the market, is fully operational.
Technical specifications and tests performed:
Selenium exposure meter: the cell is incredibly still responsive and precise. The needle in the viewfinder moves correctly according to the light intensity (tested with different exposures).
AUTO System: the automatic mode (shutter speed priority) works perfectly, including the shutter lock system in case of underexposure.
Canon SE 45mm f/1.9 lens: a very bright lens. The glass is clean, clear and free of fungi (NO FUNGUS). There is no haze (haze) nor oil on the diaphragm blades.
Telemetro (rangefinder): the central square is bright and well contrasted. The double image aligns correctly for precise focusing.
Mechanical: the Copal shutter fires reliably at all speeds (including long exposures and bulb). The film advance is smooth.
Serial Number: 546784.
Aesthetic conditions:
The camera body is very well preserved, with no traces of corrosion or greenish oxidation (common in these models). It should be noted only that a tiny cosmetic screw on the lens barrel is missing, a detail irrelevant to operation but reported for complete transparency. The interior of the film compartment is impeccable.
Included accessories set (Rarity):
Original metal-stamped lens hood 'Canonet' (a very rare accessory of high collectible value).
Original Canon lens cap.
Original 'Ever-ready' case in black leather (in good condition, intact).
Tracked shipment and professional packaging. A piece of photographic history ready to be used or displayed in a collection.
The text is already in English, so no translation is needed.
