Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Set of two Brutalist ice-glass wall lamps, each 54 × 9 × 9 cm and together weighing about 5 kg, with metal wall mounts, in excellent condition and fully functional.
Description from the seller
Set of two Brutalist wall lamps in textured “ice glass” 1970s.
In excellent condition - No reserve
These striking wall sconces exemplify the raw, sculptural aesthetics of post-war Brutalist lighting design. They feature thick, deeply textured cast glass panels that resemble fractured ice or frozen crystal formations. The surface refracts light in a dramatic, crystalline manner, creating a rich play of shadows and highlights on the surrounding wall when illuminated.
Each lamp consists of a robust metal wall-mount housing a vertical slab of heavy, hand-blown, textured glass, held securely in place by minimal brackets that underline the industrial character of the design. The substantial weight and density of the glass testify to the high manufacturing quality for which Peill & Putzler were known during the mid-20th century.
It's likely these lamps were made by Peill & Putzler. However, the original brand sticker is missing.
Condition
Overall condition: Excellent vintage condition
Glass: no cracks, no chips, professionally cleaned
Metal fixtures: original, stable, with light patina consistent with age
A genuine pair that has remained together over time.
Please see the photo's as they are a part of the description.
Dimensions
Each lamp: 54 x 9 x 9 cm (h × w × d)
Combined weight: approx. 5 kg
Electrical note
Fully functional, but as with all vintage electrical items, a safety check by a qualified professional is recommended before use.
