A complete set of 48 hand-blown glasses from the 18th–19th centuries, including wine, water, beer, liqueur and dessert glasses, each varying in colour, weight and finish, with heights from 7 to 16.5 cm and diameters of 4–8.5 cm, showing pontil marks and different stems and foot shapes, with light irregularities and possible monogram SH on one glass, in good used condition.
Description from the seller
Large and diverse collection of 48 hand-blown drinking glasses, manufactured in the 18th & 19th centuries.
The collection comprises a variety of models for wine, water, beer, liqueur, and dessert. Each glass is unique in color, weight, and finish. This is characteristic of historic table glass and indicates handmade production.
Typical features include:
Height differences from 7 to 16.5 cm
Diameters vary from 4 to 8.5 cm
Clearly visible, distinct pontil finishes on the underside.
Varying stems and foot shapes, including flat buttons.
Minor irregularities, air bubbles, and variations in glass thickness and color.
One glass is engraved with a possibly personal monogram “SH”
The glass shows a light discoloration that is consistent with older hand-blown glass (possibly containing manganese).
Condition
Good, used condition appropriate for its age. No structural cracks or restorations. Some signs of use and small random irregularities as expected with antique glass.
Offered as one complete ensemble set.
