Description from the seller
For three days, photographer Dominique Issermann photographed Laetitia Casta in Switzerland, at the Vals Baths, built by architect Peter Zumthor.
This book gathers thirty-two photographs of this encounter, of this photographic essay, a kind of choreography between the photographer, Laetitia Casta, and the architecture of the place.
Dominique Issermann has photographed personalities from cinema, literature, or show business, such as Isabelle Adjani, Gérard Depardieu, Catherine Deneuve, Serge Gainsbourg, Jane Birkin, Vanessa Paradis, ...
She has worked for Rykiel, Christian Dior, Nina Ricci, Yves Saint-Laurent, Emporio Armani, Montana, Guess, Lancôme, La Perla, Hermès, Tiffany, Cartier, Victoria's Secret, Lanvin, Chanel... She has collaborated with many newspapers such as Vogue, Elle, Cosmopolitan US, New York Magazine, The New York Times, Corriere della Sera and Le Monde. She has directed numerous music videos, including Leonard Cohen's "Dance Me" and "Manhattan", as well as advertising films.
Dominique Issermann is the first woman to be elected a member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts (Institute of France) in the Photography section, on June 23, 2021.
She has published several books, including this one; in black and white, it is remarkable. On February 27, 2023, La Poste issued a stamp from the artistic series illustrated by a photograph by Dominique Issermann: “This is the first page of the book I created with Laetitia Casta in the Vals Thermal Baths, built in Switzerland by Peter Zumthor.”
