Description from the seller
This lamp is an original product from Thabur (The Hague). The dating has been established based on multiple, objectively verifiable characteristics:
• Manufacturer: Thabur was active in the Netherlands from the 1940s, with a strong focus on decorative wall and night lamps in the 1950s–1960s.
Material use: The combination of a porcelain wall fitting with a hand-blown opaline art glass shade is characteristic of mid-20th-century Dutch lighting and largely disappeared after around 1965.
• Glass technique: The glass displays a marble-like pattern with embedded color veins, formed during hand-blowing. This technique was used before the introduction of mass-produced cast decorative glass in later decades.
Construction: The electrical build, finish, and attachment are consistent with vintage production and clearly differ from later reproductions.
Based on the manufacturer, material, glass technique, and construction, this object can be reliably dated to the period circa 1950–1960 (mid 20th century). It is an original vintage object, not a reproduction.
