Description from the seller

Rare Victorian Uranium Glass Cake Stand

An elegant and highly collectible Victorian cake stand made of pressed uranium glass in a vibrant primrose yellow shade, finished with a delicate opaline (milky) rim. This refined combination is characteristic of late 19th-century British glass production and is attributed to George Davidson & Co. of Gateshead-on-Tyne, England.

The wide bowl features a rich geometric relief pattern imitating cut crystal, while retaining the softness and charm of Victorian pressed glass. The silhouette is completed by a distinctive multi-part pedestal stem, decorated with a ring of applied glass beads, a construction detail frequently associated with Davidson’s high-quality pressed wares.

This original cake stand is both decorative and functional, ideal as a centerpiece for serving cakes, pastries, fruit, or festive treats, while also serving as a strong display piece in a serious glass collection.

Condition:

Excellent antique condition with minor surface wear consistent with age (120+ years). No cracks or chips.

A beautiful and authentic example of Victorian British pressed glass, combining elegance, craftsmanship, and strong collector appeal. Ideal for collectors of uranium glass, Davidson glass, and late 19th-century decorative objects.
