La Chouffe is a Belgian blond beer that was first brewed in 1982 by the brothers-in-law Pierre Gobron and Chris Bauweraerts. It began as a hobby, which gradually grew into the Brasserie d'Achouffe brewery and distillery and tavern. Since 2006 it has been fully owned by the Duvel Moortgat brewery from Breendonk. La Chouffe, besides being available in cask for a long time, was previously only sold in large bottles of 75 centiliters and 1.5 liters, but since May 2009 the beer is also bottled in 33-centiliter bottles. The brewer recommends drinking La Chouffe at a temperature of 4 to 10°C.
