Description from the seller
Elegant Art Deco decorative pitcher (ewer) produced by Boch Frères Keramis, La Louvière, Belgium, and attributed to the designer Raymond Chevallier, active during the interwar period.
This finely crafted ceramic ewer features a rounded baluster form with a pronounced pouring spout and a gracefully curved handle. The body is richly decorated with stylized floral motifs in shades of rose pink, cobalt blue, burgundy, and warm brown, arranged in harmonious Art Deco compositions. The neck and handle are highlighted with luxurious metallic lustre glazing, creating a striking contrast and elegant visual depth.
The base bears the factory mark “BOCH FRES – La Louvière – Made in Belgium”, confirming authentic production by Boch Frères during the Art Deco era. The combination of refined form, vibrant enamel decoration, and metallic glaze reflects the high artistic standards of Belgian ceramic production in the late 1920s and early 1930s.
Originally intended as a decorative table pitcher (ewer) for serving water, wine, or milk, this piece also functions beautifully as a sculptural decorative object.
In good vintage condition. Some glaze wear on the handle.
