Fluorite crystals with cubic habit on a botryoidal green Prehnite matrix from the Yindu Ag-Pb-Zn deposit, Hexigten Banner, Chifeng, Inner Mongolia, China; weight 35.25 g, dimensions 38 × 28 × 15 mm.
Description from the seller
We present a display specimen that stands out for its impeccable airy presentation. The Fluorite crystals, with exceptional transparency, sit prominently on a bed of Prehnite, creating a piece of great three-dimensionality.
• Crystallography: Fluorite exhibits a perfect cubic habit, with sharp edges and faces of a superior vitreous luster that allow the crystal to be seen through with total clarity.
• Color Centers: The most captivating aspect is its cores. It features very well-defined blue-violet color centers that contrast with the colorless periphery of the cubes, creating a fascinating visual depth effect.
The Matrix: Crystals emerge from a botroidal (globular) habit of prehnite in a soft mint-green hue. The contrast between the rounded habit of the prehnite and the angular rigidity of the fluorite cubes is the specimen's great aesthetic hook.
• General Aesthetics: It is an extremely clean piece, where the arrangement of the main crystals on the prehnite matrix is perfectly balanced.
