Table or wall mirror dating to 1850–1900, in solid wood with gold leaf finish and glass, Italian origin, external dimensions 46 cm high by 36 cm wide and 4 cm deep, in good condition with minor signs of age and stains.

Table/wall mirror in Rococo style – Carved and gilded wood – Italy, 19th century (mid-1800s)
An enchanting antique wall mirror dating from the mid-19th century, executed in full 'Rococo Revival' (Louis XV) style. The frame is an excellent example of ebony craftsmanship, characterized by rich and dynamic carving.
• Material: Solid wood with plaster preparation and a gold leaf finish/lacquer.
• Decoration: It features the classical Rocaille motifs, with opposing C-scrolls, shell motifs on the cornice and on the feet, and a refined punchwork (burin) on the flat grounds that creates a beautiful play of light.
• Dimensions: [Height 46 x Width 36 cm
• Style: Barocchetto / Louis XV Revival.
Conservation status and notes:
The item is in good overall condition, with the beautiful patina of its original age.
Frame: Solid, with small signs of wear and minor losses in the plaster consistent with its age (as visible in the photo), which attest to its authenticity. Presence of antique woodworm holes (treated and no longer active).
• Mirror: As indicated by the images, the glass has been replaced at a later date with a modern mirror (not original from the 19th century), making the item perfectly usable and free of oxidation stains.
• Finish: It presents a very elegant color combination between the gold that emerges and a dark patina that enhances its reliefs.
