Description from the seller
A spider trapped in Burmese amber from the Cretaceous period
Burmese amber, also known as Burmite, is a fossilized resin mainly found in the Hukawng Valley of Myanmar. It is renowned for its exceptional ability to preserve ancient life, including insects, plants, and other organisms commonly encased within it. This amber is estimated to be around 99 million years old, dating back to the Cretaceous period (before the appearance of Tyrannosaurus rex!). It has a rich golden-yellow color with reddish-brown tones and high transparency, making it highly valued by collectors and scientists and providing us with a rare window into prehistoric ecosystems.
