Cabinet - Plastic - East German wall cabinet

This wall-mounted DDR/GDR cabinet module is a striking example of the functional plastic design of the 1970s–1980s and was originally produced as export goods in the GDR.

The cabinet body consists of sturdy plastic and is complemented by two bold yellow, high-gloss plastic doors. These convey an intense, vivid color effect with a smooth glossy surface and give the cabinet a strong visual presence – typical of the color-focused design of late-GDR-era export products.

Inside the cabinet is divided into two separate compartments. Each compartment features a removable, dark gray-tinted, transparent plastic shelf with a ribbed surface that can be mounted at different heights. The side guide rails are securely integrated into the cabinet body with a positive fit. The doors are attached using original, integrated plastic hinges and close flush.
