Description from the seller
Samuel Beckett (1906–1989)
A major collection around Beckett and his friend Bogdan Manojlovic, founder of the Samuel Beckett Association, including:
- An autograph letter signed by Beckett, addressed to Bogdan Manojlovic. 1 page, quarto. Paris, July 18, 1963. Very good condition with envelope: Beckett apologizes for not having replied sooner to his letter, having gone to Austria, but will be very happy to see him in Paris when he has returned from his “little shack in the countryside.”
- Two envelopes signed by Beckett and a blank business card
- A draft letter from Bogdan Manojlovic to Beckett
- Press cuttings, theatre tickets, and various documents
-Letters addressed to Bogdan Manojlovic, including a virulent one from Jérôme Lindon, written a year after Beckett's death: 'If Samuel Beckett, as I knew him, would have detested one thing, it is that a demonstration be organized on the occasion of the anniversary of his death. I therefore hope we will not see anything like this.'
