Very good condition, entirely handmade, warp and weft in wool, velvet in impeccable condition, with no wear and no stains.
History: Yamouth or Yomuts rug from Central Asia, 1900s. This rug, dating from the 1960s and in very good condition, comes from the Yomut tribe of Central Asia. It features a characteristic "Gul" motif in its interior field. The term "Gul" has been the subject of various etymological interpretations. Some see it as a transliteration of a Persian word meaning “flower,” while others connect it to a Turkish word denoting “clan.” In practice, a gul refers to the multicolored ornaments regularly repeated across the entire rug field.
