Eves
Yoshihiro Tatsuki
Sankei Shimbun Publishing House/1970/Japanese/260*260*10
Eves by Yoshihiro Tatsuki is a collection of photographs by one of Japan's leading photographers, Yoshihiro Tatsuki, a master photographer who has been active in the commercial world since the 1960s and, along with contemporaries Noriaki Kano and Tetsuya Ichimura, stands out from the crowd when it comes to photographing ‘women’ and ‘nudes’. Yoshihiro Tachiki is a preeminent presence in the photography of ‘women’ and ‘nudes’ alongside contemporaries Noriaki Kano and Tetsuya Ichimura. In addition to commercials, Shoji Yamagishi, the famous editor-in-chief of Camera Mainichi, published Tongue Out Angel in April 1965. In addition to the 56 feature pages, which were groundbreaking at the time, the unique illustrations, which combined lightness, colour and elegance, caused quite a stir and firmly established Tachiki's position as an artist. This book is a representative early work published in 1970 and consists of portraits and nudes of 22 actresses, models and dancers, including Mari Atsumi, Peter, Angela Asaoka, Susan Yamaguchi and Hideko Okiyama. The book is entirely in black and white, with excellent editorial by Makoto Wada.
