Elegant Limoges porcelain dinner service by C.H. Field Haviland, Limoges, France, in blue, pink and gold with refined perimetral floral decoration dating to circa 1900–1910, comprising 6 flat plates (25 cm), 6 deep plates (23 cm), 6 small/dessert plates (22 cm), 1 sauce boat (13 cm) and 1 lidded tureen (24 cm, all in excellent unused condition with a small internal chip on the lid not visible externally).
Description from the seller
Elegant Limoges porcelain dinner service, produced by C.H. Field Haviland, a historic manufacturer active in Limoges from the late 19th to the first half of the 20th century.
The service is characterized by a refined perimeter decoration with floral motifs, garlands and ornamental elements in blue and pink, enriched by gold borders, typical of the French classical taste of the early twentieth century. The porcelain has a luminous glaze and a substantial body.
Composition and dimensions:
• 6 flat plates: diameter approx. 25 cm
• 6 deep plates: diameter approx. 23 cm
• 6 small plates / dessert plates: diameter approx. 22 cm
• 1 sauceboat: diameter approx. 13 cm
• 1 soup tureen with lid: diameter approx. 24 cm
Original brand C.H. Field Haviland – Limoges, France, present on the back, with the emblem “Label de Qualité”.
Conditions
The service is in excellent condition, never used.
There is a small chip on the inside of the tureen lid, not visible from the outside and that does not compromise the overall aesthetics or the usability of the item. Otherwise, the decorations are well preserved and the gilding is still legible.
Estimated period
The first half of the twentieth century (roughly 1900–1930).
