Description from the seller
From my personal collection #opalwanted, I present to you this magnificent and spectacular rough gem:
Precious collection gem: natural multicolor fire opal in rough form. This rough opal, photographed from several angles to reveal its play of color, presents a vibrant and authentic scene. Still embraced by its original matrix, it shows intense flashes of red, green, blue and purple, manifesting the optical phenomenon characteristic of precious opals: the diffraction of light within its internal structure.
Color scheme: multicolored, with a clear presence of red (the most valued), electric green, deep blue, and shades of purple.
- State: Uncut and unpolished, which reinforces its authenticity and natural origin.
Wet condition: The images were taken with the opal slightly wet to highlight its true color.
- Origin: Lightning Ridge
- Color: multicolor
- Dimensions: 28 x 23 x 11 mm
Potential: Ideal for lapidaries, collectors, or as a raw testimonial piece. It can be cut or preserved as a natural relic.
“Fiery Heart of the Ancient Dream” — Australian Fire Opal
Born from the fiery heart of the Australian desert, this fire opal holds within it the radiance of an ancient myth. The Aboriginal legends say that when the first ray of sun touched the red land of the Dreamtime, a divine spark was trapped beneath the rock. That spark — they say — became the opals we know today as 'fire stones'.
This piece is one of those rare manifestations: an opal that seems to contain an eternal dawn, where orange, red, and gold flashes intertwine like living embers. Its play of color recalls the luminous trail that, according to tradition, the ancestral spirits left as they walked upon the earth.
Each move reveals a new fragment of the myth:
Dancing flames that evoke the sacred fire of ancient ceremonies.
Solar flares that seem to emerge from a living core.
Deep shadows that recall the vastness of the nocturnal Outback.
It's not just a gem: it's a fragment of Australia's primordial story, a relic that carries the memory of the original fire. A piece wrought by the earth, polished by time, and destined for the hands that can recognize its legendary nature.
To behold its chromatic fire in action, watch the short: there the dominant red reveals its dance under direct light.
