WUBA wall clock, Zaanse style, in a solid wood case with brass repousé dial, mechanical movement with weights and chains, 8‑day power reserve, striking on half an hour with one bell, circa 1960–1970, made in the Netherlands, dimensions 55 × 25 × 18 cm, about 7 kg, in acceptable condition with heavy wear and possibly missing minor parts, and in working order.
Description from the seller
Magnificent Dutch wall clock from the WUBA company, one of the most renowned manufacturers in the Netherlands in decorative clockmaking of the 20th century. It is a Zaanse-type model, characterized by its architectural solid-wood case, richly decorated with appliqués and a repoussé brass dial, Roman numerals, and an elegant set of pierced hands. At the top it features a moon phase indicator, a distinctive trait highly valued in this type of traditional Dutch clocks.
The interior houses a mechanical mechanism with chains and weights, visible and complete, signed WUBA, as seen on the original rear cover bearing the manufacturer's emblem. The piece retains an honest patina appropriate to its age, with no structural cracks or major losses, preserving all of its original character.
The approximate dimensions of the piece are 55 cm tall, 25 cm wide, and 18 cm deep, giving it a noticeable presence without being excessive, making it ideal for both collectors and for classical or rustic decor.
An authentic timepiece, representative of traditional Dutch clockmaking, increasingly scarce in good condition and highly sought after at European auctions.
