Offered is a beautiful example of the original Zeiss Ikon Contaflex I, a landmark in 35mm camera design as one of the first SLR cameras to feature a leaf shutter. Produced in Stuttgart, West Germany, the Contaflex is renowned for its exceptional build quality and its bright, eye-level pentaprism viewfinder. This model represents the elegance of 1950s German precision engineering, combining the versatility of an SLR with the quiet operation of a Synchro-Compur shutter.
The camera is fitted with the legendary Carl Zeiss Tessar 45mm f/2.8 lens. Known as the "Eagle Eye," the Tessar design is celebrated for its incredible sharpness and high contrast, making it a favorite for both black-and-white and color photography.
