Elegant French desk clock from the late 19th century, made of gilt bronze and bi-chrome marble. The piece stands out for its exquisite Rococo ornamentation, with volutes, floral motifs, and a central lion mask on the crest, typical of the high-quality foundry workshops of the era.
Technical Features
Mechanism: French-style “Paris” 8-day hand-wound mechanical movement. Includes hour and half-hour striking on a bronze bell with a bright, clear tone.
Marks: The back plate bears the numbered stamp '77', corresponding to the caliber and length of the original pendulum.
Dial: White porcelain dial with black Roman numerals and hands in Breguet or Louis XV style in blued steel. Protected by a bronze bezel with the original crystal.
Base: An exceptional base of veined marble in cream, brown, and white tones, with curved carved profiles (gola molding), providing substantial weight and stability to the piece.
