Shows a bronze figurine of a kouros.
A kouros is a sculpture of a naked young man, typical of the archaic period of ancient Greek sculpture (circa 700–500 BC).
Such statues had a static, frontal stance and often functioned as grave markers or memorial monuments.
This particular figurine is Etruscan, originating from Castello near Florence, Italy; the original dates to about 550 B.C.
Measures about 23 cm high and weighs over 1.5 kg. Could be used as a paperweight. In good condition.
