Description from the seller
Jeanloup Sieff - Women
For more than thirty years, the most beautiful women have been captured by Jeanloup Sieff's lens. His photographs — whether portraits, nudes, or fashion series — reveal a woman who is bold, sensuous, infinitely aware of her power of seduction. Seventy of his finest photographs, enriched by his captions, are gathered in this book: they bear witness to the remarkable work of a master of light who has continually explored all the fields offered by black and white. A delight for the eyes.
About the Author
Born in 1933, Jeanloup Sieff was hired by the magazine Elle in 1955, initially as a reporter and then as a fashion photographer. From 1959, he became an independent photographer and collaborated with numerous magazines (Vogue, Queen, Nova, Harper’s Bazaar, Femme, etc.). From 1966, he published numerous books and exhibited his work in museums around the world. In 1992, he won the Grand Prix National de la Photographie and in 1994, the Grand Prix of the Nancy Biennale. In 2000, he published his two final works: Faites comme si je n’étais pas là at Éditions de La Martinière and États d’âmes… et ta sœur at Éditions Alternatives. He passed away on September 20, 2000 in Paris.
