Oscar is a small handmade beechwood dog designed by Hans Bølling for ArchitectMade, dating to 1990–2000, with dimensions 13 cm high, 14.5 cm wide and 6 cm deep, and weighing 125 g, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Oscar is a small handmade wooden dog from the manufacturer Architectmade, designed by designer Hans Bølling. There really isn't anything Oscar can't do, because with his movable legs you can pose him in all kinds of positions.
Hans Bølling's love for dogs inspired him in 1953 to design Oscar. This dog presents a timeless portrayal of the loyal four-legged companion, man's best friend.
With Bølling's characteristic sense of humor for mimicking everything a real dog can do. From sitting and begging to playing and crawling, their personality comes fully to life, making them a cheerful companion for every day (without having to walk them!). Each figure is handmade with the utmost precision. Oscar is made of beech wood and is 13 cm tall.
Design: Hans Bølling
Hans Bølling's work is known for its playfulness, humor, and wit. A passionate spirit, whose work and products are inspired by creative diversity. Bølling's interest in architecture grew so strong that after training as an advertising illustrator he went back to school for a second degree. As a result, he expanded his practice from objects to, among other things, villas, housing complexes, and town halls.
Early in his career he began making small figures from botanical materials as gifts for family and friends. The precision and personality in his pieces laid the foundation for success, as he quickly began selling his wooden figures to shops.
Bølling won a prize for his designs and invested the prize money in his own woodworking machine. Access to the means of production gave the impetus for the production of Bølling's now-famous duck series Duck & Duckling in 1950.
Dimensions: H 13 cm x L 14.5 cm x W 6 cm
Weight: 125 grams
This vintage item is in well-preserved pre-owned condition. It will be securely packaged with smart shipping, sent by registered mail and insured.
