Description: A very beautiful cutlery set from the early 19th century, consisting of five dinner forks and five dinner spoons, featuring on part of the handle a so-called comb. The butt of the handle is finished in the so-called Dubbel Lof. The reverse side of the handles bears the initials JMJ.
Origin: Rotterdam, the Netherlands
Silversmith: Hendrik van Es

Assay marks: standing crowned lion, city mark, master mark (HVE joined), year letter Y, crowned O (re-inspection mark from 1807), French import marks (Rooster 2 and guarantee mark), little axe (State stamp mark for old gold and silver pieces circulating in the trade).
